I took Lindsay with me to orchestra last night.... it delighted her to no end due to the fact that this semester, everything that we are playing is a popular movie theme.  If you didn't already know, Lindsay lives for watching movies just so she can hear the soundtrack and then promptly go stick it on her iPod (if she likes it). Now she gets to play everything that she listens to all the time.   Actually, we are playing her top three favorites (which happen to be Pirates, LOTR, and Starwars).

This Saturday,  I am going to attempt to snowboard for the second time.  I had already convinced myself that the sport was def. not for me (think not being able to sit down comfortably for weeks afterwards do to falling a MILLION times...) but Stuart has assured me that my failure was due only to the fact that I was using rental equipment, and that he wasn't there to teach me. So, like a fool I have agreed to try it one more time, despite the fact that I feel deep down that I'd better just stick to skis. If I come to church with a broken arm on Sunday, slug him for me.

At the request of my sister, I'm updating, so once again y'all will be subjected to my horrendous spelling and absolutely non-witty thoughts.

And now I've drawn a blank.

And another.

I really have no clue what to write.

Random thought. Is it cruel and unusual punishment to request that a guy wear a tie to a formal dinner? AND it's only once in his entire life? And you have already compromised about the fanciness of the occassion?  If anyone actually reads this, let me know what you think....

Well that's all...

I'm going to try to give a short overview of my trip. It was unbelievable! Saturday, we left at 2:30 on a lovely yellow school bus for BWI. After managing to check 21 people's luggage(X2) we flew to Minneapolis and then on to Bismarck. (sp?) At this point it was pretty late at night. We then had to drive 2 or so hours into South Dakota where we were staying. Here's random for you: The guys were staying at the church in Mobridge, which was on central time, but we girls were staying at a church in mountain time. Could it get any more confusing? So after getting to bed at an absolutely crazy hour, we got up the next morning and sang in 3 church services and at a nursing home.

Monday through Wednesday, we ran NBT and visited homes. We had eight people saved all together which was awesome, and Wednesday night, we had three new families visit the church in Mobridge.

Monday we went to the Mobridge Centenial parade. It was most likely the coolest parade I've ever been to because they still throw candy from every float! Josh was in absolute glory because he got candy from Miss South Dakota. ( whatever)

Tuesday evening we went to a rodeo and saw fireworks, so that was a very cool 4th of July. Thursday we were in the Bad Lands all day, and Friday we went to Mount Rushmore. The Bad Lands were definently impressive. I took way too many pictures, and there is still nothing to describe the beauty and awe that they inspired in me.

One small highlight of my trip: I got to see real prairie dogs and they weren't in a zoo!

Another crazy highlight: Taking communion in the Bismark airport using Nilla wafers and grape juice in Dixie Cups.

Wow! We got to record a radio commercial for our Patriotic Program and my piano abilities are now definently known throughout Selby and Mobridge. Population of Selby? 700. That's less than the number of people that attend our church on a Sunday morning. But whatever. I was still on the radio!

On a spiritual note, this trip taught me most of all that the little discomforts and problems that may seem like such a big deal really aren't all that important in the bigger picture of life. Little inconviences should never keep us from doing what God wants us to do.

Only 3 more days until I leave for South Dakota. This morning I was trying to figure out how I could possibly take everything I want to take and manage to fit it into two suitcases and a carry-on and still have every bag come to under 50 lbs. Frugal I am not.

Early this morning ( 12:15 ) I returned from Williamsburg where I had enjoyed one day of riding coasters until I was sick and then another day recovering from the previous day. It was fun.

The highlight of the week was when Grant finally gave in and rode a roller coaster for the first time. He then proceeded to ride it 2 more times, yelling " Yeah, baby! That is awesome! Yes!"

I leave for South Dakota in a week. I'm very excited. To say the least.
